23 novembre au 21 décembre 2007 Galerie Sans Nom Subterfuge Exposition de groupe célébrant le 30 e anniversaire de la GSN Subterfuge concerne le travail d'artistes qui dépasse les conventions du monde de l'art pour s'insérer dans le quotidien. La proposition explore autant l'objet artistique qui prend la forme de l'objet familier que des manifestations artistiques qui brouillent la distinction entre la « réalité » et la nature « artificielle » de l'art.
November 23 to December 21 2007 Subterfuge Galerie Sans Nom Group exhibition celebrating Galerie Sans Nom's 30th anniversary Subterfuge is concerned with artist's work that goes beyond the boundaries of the traditional art environment, fitting into a common, day-to-day reality. The exhibition explores the art object that takes the shape of familiar ones. It also presents artistic interventions that blur the distinction between "reality" and the "artificial" nature of art. |

Par l'entremise d'oscillations de fréquences à travers une collection de cristaux, Jason de Haan propose amplifier les qualités thérapeutiques et collectives de ces spécimens à l'intérieur même et bien au-delà de la Galerie Sans Nom. Le travail de Jason de Haan se situe entre le poétique, le conceptuel et l'absurde. Formé au Alberta College of Art and Design, il vit et travaille à Calgary.
January 18 to February 15 2008 Overcoming Problems Related to This Planet Jason de Haan Installation Overcoming Problems Related to This Planet will function as a speculative gesture of goodwill and a potential amplification of positive energies. Through relaying a constantly oscillating frequency through a large collection of healing crystals Jason de Haan proposes to amplify the collective qualities of the specimens throughout, and infinitely beyond, Galerie Sans Nom's exhibition space. Jason de Haan creates work that functions within and between the poetic, the conceptual and the absurd. A graduate from the Alberta College of Art and Design, he lives and works in Calgary. |

Leurre juste met de l’avant un éventail de préoccupations contemporaines et s’inscrit dans une démarche actuelle reflétant les intentions multiples des artistes participants. Les performances auront lieu dans divers endroits du Quartier Saint-Roch, encadrées d’une exposition collective dans la galerie du Cercle sur St-Joseph en lien avec certaines de ces manifestations. L’événement propose le travail de six artistes et collectifs de diverses régions francophones du Canada :
Leurre juste puts forth an array of contemporary preoccupations and reflects the multiple approaches of invited artists. The performances will be held in many locations throughout the Saint-Roch neighbourhood, framed by a collective exhibition in the Cercle St-Joseph gallery space related to some of the performances. Dominique Rey and Venessa Rigaux (Winnipeg, MB), multidisciplinary artists and members of the Abzurbs collective, present Histoires d’amour (Love Stories). In this piece, uncommon stories allude to identities and their alter-egos and explore the conventional parameters of love. Dates: June 8 and 9

Jason St-Laurent (Toronto ON) propose Camouflage lors duquel l’artiste s’intègre à un monument d’art public habillé d’un costume ‘trash’ qui imitent la texture et la couleur de l’oeuvre. Cette manifestation cadre dans un projet performatif faisant l’objet d’une série de photographies et ayant eu lieu dans différentes villes au Canada et à l’étranger. Les photographies de l’ensemble du projet seront présentées dans l’exposition collective. Date : entre le 7 et le 9 juin

Stefan St-Laurent (Ottawa ON) présentera Heartbeat de sa série Performances pour petits bars gais, une œuvre conçue spécialement pour honorer la créativité des artistes gais à Québec. Plus d'une centaine de pointeurs laser seront attachés au costume de l’artiste lors de sa performance, présentée dans la fumée et le noir. Le performeur deviendra à la fois danseur de boîte de nuit et jeu de lumière. À minuit, quelque part à Québec, la clientèle d'un bar gai se retrouvera devant un spectacle laser surprise mariant les arts de la scène, la performance et la danse. Date : 8 juin
Stefan St-Laurent (Ottawa, ON) presents HeartBeat from the series Performances for Small Gay Bars, a piece in honour of the creativity of the gay artistic community in Quebec City. More than a hundred laser pointers are attached to the artist’s costume, performing through smoke and darkness, becoming at once dancer and light show. At midnight, somewhere in the city, a gay bar’s clientele will witness a surprise laser spectacle merging performance and dance. Date : June 8 |

Maria Legault (Toronto, ON) est artiste interdisciplinaire qui, dans sa jeune carrière, s’est recouvert le visage de gomme à mâcher, s’est cachée dans des nuages de barbe à papa, et a rempli des crevasses avec du glaçage rose. Elle présente une performance intitulée Maria Plus Un avec son compagnon de vie, une poupée de taille humaine fabriquée par l’artiste. Maria Plus Un est un projet étalé en plusieurs volets dont la documentation sera présentée dans l’exposition collective. Lieu : Cercle sur Saint-Joseph
Maria Legault (Toronto, ON) is a multidisciplinary artist who, in her young career, has coated her face in bubble gum, been hidden in clouds of blue cotton candy and stuffed crevices with pink icing. She presents a performance titled “Maria Plus One” with her surrogate husband, a life-sized, hand-made doll. The documentation of this ongoing multi-faceted project will be presented as part of the collective exhibition. Date: June 7 |

La Galerie Sans Nom, en collaboration avec le Festival international du cinéma francophone en Acadie (FICFA), présente la 12e édition d'Acadie Underground. Au cours de l’été, un atelier sur l’utilisation de la caméra Super 8 sera offert à des cinéastes en herbe de la région. Les films seront présentés lors de la 22e édition du FICFA, qui aura lieu du 25 septembre au 4 octobre 2008.
