The history of mankind has been influenced by natural phenomena from the beginning of its origin. Moreover, the development of civilizations is still influenced by weather as it participates in both the food of living beings, the conditions of survival and the aesthetic appearance of landscapes. Singing in various versions, dancing to attract it, reciting in poetry or chanting in curses, rain has always been spoken of no matter its fluid, vaporous, icy or snowy forms.

The artist Camille Bernard-Gravel was particularly interested by rain in her installation Construire la pluie where she staged an unusual version of the phenomenon, by alignments of styrofoam glasses where droplets fall gently. While the composition of the work seems simple it remains complex in its organization, since each pipette controls the flow of escaping drops of water, so as to create a sensitive and sonorous harmony.

As Camille Bernard-Gravel reminds us, water remains today a crucial issue since it is essential to all life. Its sonority will invite you to pause, time to imbue you with it and to find quietude.
