Jour et nuit – Vulnérables créatures

Mis à part une année en Arts visuels à l’Université de Moncton et la brève introduction à la peinture que lui prodigue sa mère lorsqu’elle était enfant, Chantal Babineau est une artiste essentiellement autodidacte, mais déjà mère de nombreux tableaux.

La profondeur du subconscient est une forêt multicolore, dense, riche, et où naissent et vivent des créatures de toutes sortes. Parfois bienveillante, parfois un peu moins, chacune est néanmoins bien là, fragment d’une émotion, d’un songe ou bien d’une pensée refoulée. Pourtant, même dans les tableaux les plus sombres, la couleur noire n’est jamais utilisée.

Aside from a year in Fine Arts at the Université de Moncton and a brief introduction to painting given to her by her mother when she was a child, Chantal Babineau is an essentially self-taught artist, but already the creator of numerous paintings. 

The depth of the subconscious is a multicoloured, dense, rich forest, where creatures of all kinds are born and live. Sometimes benevolent, sometimes a little less, each one is nevertheless there, fragment of an emotion, a dream or a repressed thought. However, even in the darkest paintings, the colour black is never used.
